Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Oct. 10) – It’s been a year and a half since Jack Dover has raced at Lone Star Speedway.

That couldn’t go by fast enough for the 21-year-old from Springfield, Neb., who will compete this Thursday through Saturday at the high-banked track in Kilgore, Texas, for the inaugural LoneStar Sprint Nationals.

In the last – and only – time he raced there, Dover won a B Main only to finish 16th in the feature.

“That was a tough race and I know that these three this weekend are going to be just as competitive,” he said. “I need to put myself in a better position from the start of the heat races because with the ASCS format, passing is the most important thing.”

Since his last appearance, the track has been reshaped from a ½ mile to 3/8.

“I think it will still be a really fast track,” he said. “I haven’t seen what the track looks like now, but I envision it like a couple that I’ve had success on. I’ll go in there confident and ready for the challenge.”

It is also the first of four weekends with the ASCS National Tour to conclude this season. Despite missing more than half of the races, Dover ranks 15th in the national standings.
