Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (June 29, 2021) – Jack Dover was one of only a handful of drivers to complete the entire six races in eight nights during THE SHOWDOWN.

Dover highlighted a trio of nights at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., with an 11th-place run. He also made a pair of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series main events at Jackson Motorplex during the 43rd annual AGCO Jackson Nationals last weekend.

“It's probably one of my busiest weeks I’ve ever done in my racing career,” he said. “It was cool to experience that and live like the Outlaws do. It was a little tiring, but fun as well. Our goal was to make the features. We made three out of six so that’s not bad.”

Dover, who was driving for Rick and Chris Bowers, qualified fourth quickest, placed third in a heat race and ended 11th at Huset’s Speedway on June 20. Qualifying hampered him the ensuing two nights during the inaugural BillionAuto.com Huset’s 50.

“I thought we had a good shot at making the features there and we only made Sunday night so we weren’t really pleased with how we did there,” he said. “We’ve done well in qualifying with the weekly stuff. Our last time we were 10.8 seconds in qualifying, but we couldn’t get better than an 11.0 with the World of Outlaws. We didn’t qualify as well as we thought we would and then obviously when the Outlaws are there you have to be on top of your game.”

Last weekend showcased progress at Jackson Motorplex, where Dover timed in eighth quickest on Thursday before a mechanical problem in a heat race stymied him for the remainder of the night. A heat race win garnered a spot into the dash on Friday. Dover finished the feature 21st for his first World of Outlaws A Main start of the season.

The event concluded on Sunday with Dover transferring through the B Main to lock into the AGCO Jackson Nationals main event. He placed 21st for the second straight race.

“We were trying different things every time we went on the track,” he said. “The final night I felt a lot more comfortable in the car. The results might not show that, but the final night was the best as far as the car rotating and handling.

“We weren’t sure how the motor would run because we’ve been racing on shorter tracks all year. That was part of the learning curve. To come out of there making two A Mains was good.”

Dover will pilot his No. 53 this Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., and Saturday at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D., with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series.
