Dover Progresses Throughout First Trip of the Season to Knoxville Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (April 27, 2021) – Jack Dover tied for the most positions gained in the A Main last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

It was a positive to cap Dover’s first visit of the season to ‘The Sprint Car Capital of the World.’

“We were struggling all day,” he said. “We were late getting there and drew bad. In hot laps and time trials and the heat race I didn’t adjust my high speed correctly. I think being behind and late I spaced it. Come the B Feature I messed with the high speed and didn’t get a chance to tweak on the car, but it got better. Then come A Feature time we tweaked on the car and got it to where it was somewhat comfortable. We’ll have a baseline to start with the next time we go there.”

Dover improved throughout the night on the half-mile oval, where he qualified 25th quickest before advancing from seventh to sixth place in a heat race, from fifth to third place in the B Main and from 23rd to 13th in the main event.

“I’m not happy with the result, but I’m happy with our progress,” he said. “That was definitely a learning night. We found out what the car likes as far as bars and the shock combination. I’m sure I can fine-tune more.”

This weekend features an ASCS Warrior Region event on Thursday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., where Dover was last victorious in 2012. He posted a fourth-place result during his most recent visit in 2018.

Dover plans on wrapping up this weekend by returning to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.
