Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (March 30, 2021) – Jack Dover is heading to familiar territory this weekend when he invades I-80 Speedway for the Spring Meltdown.

The two-day event runs Friday and Saturday at the high-banked oval in Greenwood, Neb., which is the closest track to Dover’s shop – a short 20-minute drive.

“I’m looking forward to getting back there,” he said. “It’s hard to determine what the track is going to do for the first race. We’ve seen it super smooth and fast and we’ve had it rough. Either way we can get around it.”

Dover has earned 13 wins, 25 podiums, 30 top fives and 36 top 10s in 44 races during 360ci winged sprint car competition at the track since the start of the 2013 season.

“If we can get through the first weekend with no issues and everything staying together and going smooth it’s a good weekend,” he said.

Dover is also aiming to kick off his year with a victory for the first time since 2013. He has won his second race of the season during each of the last two years, but it was eight years ago when Dover last garnered his season opener. That event also occurred at I-80 Speedway.

“Our goal is the same as it always is,” he said. “I want to win 20 races this year. We’ve never hit that number and that’s what I’m aiming to achieve.

“We’re going to try to get 70 shows in this year. Our plan is to race as much as we can. We have 58 races in my car and 18-to-20 shows with Chris and Rick Bowers. We’ll do 360 stuff in my car and 410 racing in their car.”
