Inside Line Promotions – ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa (Aug. 26, 2020) – Jack Dover is excited for the month of August to end.

The summer started off hot with 12 top 10s in 13 races – featuring a trio of victories and 10 top fives – in June and July. Unfortunately, August has been a month of frustration that was capped by mechanical woes last Friday during a Midwest Power Series event at Rapid Speedway.

“We almost missed hot laps because I was switching the gas pedal, but we got out there and were fifth or sixth quickest,” he said. “I didn’t think my car felt that great and we made some adjustments for the heat race. One of the adjustments wasn’t right on a shock, but it seemed to work really good. We picked off three cars right away and then got second place on the last lap.”

Dover’s charge from sixth to second place earned a spot into the feature redraw. He then received the No. 1 during the random redraw to land the pole position for the A Main.

“We got the lead right away and then broke a rocker on the second lap,” he said. “Fortunately it wasn’t anything catastrophic.”

Dover’s DNF was his fourth in five races in August. It also parked him for the following night’s action at Park Jefferson International Speedway in North Sioux City, S.D.

Dover is hopeful his engine will be repaired this week so he can compete this weekend. Stay tuned to his Facebook page for the latest news.
