Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 20, 2020) – Jack Dover registered two more top 10s last weekend when he visited two tracks.

Dover scored a fourth-place finish on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., while driving for Rick and Chris Bowers before he piloted his car from 16th to eighth at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.

“We earned two good results,” he said. “Both places we went to are tough places to figure out and have top-of-the-line drivers. I’d say some of the best drivers in the country. To come out with two top 10s is awesome.”

The weekend started on Friday at Jackson Motorplex, which hosted AG Builders Night featuring the DeKalb/Asgrow Midwest Power Series presented by GRP Motorsports and the Midwest Sprint Touring Series. Dover qualified fourth quickest and advanced from fourth to second place in a heat race. He lined up seventh in the A Main.

“We knew we were pretty good from hot laps,” he said. “We freed the car up a little for time trials and had a good result. Then we got a good start and ended up second in our heat race. The car felt pretty good. Come feature-time the car got better as the race went on. We battled with Lee Grosz and had him passed for third at one point, but I made a mistake and let him back by. To run with (Justin) Henderson, (Terry) McCarl and (Lee) Grosz, who all get around Jackson really well, it was a very good night.”

Dover’s fourth-place run was his 12th top five of the season.

He then headed to Knoxville Raceway for a Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints event. Dover timed in fifth quickest in his group and he ended fifth in a heat race. That earned enough points to lock into the 16th starting position for the main event.

“From two or three weeks ago I knew what we struggled with at the beginning of the race,” he said. “I tried something to make that better and it worked really well. The car would go anywhere I wanted. I could run the bottom really good. I could enter on the top and cut through the center. It was the best my car has felt at Knoxville.”

Dover’s charge to an eighth-place finish was his 14th top 10 in 15 races this year.

The team has a pair of Midwest Sprint Touring Series events on tap this week beginning on Tuesday at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa. A trip to I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D., will follow on Saturday.

This is the final week before Dover makes his debut at the 305 Sprint Nationals, which is July 31 and Aug. 1 at Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kan.
