Dover Wins at US 36

Osborn, MO(June 18th)-After a great battle with Bronson Maeschen over the first ten laps, Jack Dover went on to his second career Winged Outlaw Warrior win at US 36 Raceway on Friday night.
Maeschen jumped into the lead from the pole as Zach Davis, Jonathan Cornell, and Dover made up the top four after one lap was complete. With Dover making his move into second on lap two, the red would come out for Kim Kennedy, who got upside down in between turns one and two. Kennedy was uninjured.
On the restart, Dover again showed his speed moving into second by Davis and Cornell and began his pursuit of Maeschen. With Maeschen setting a blistering pace, Dover kept the pressure on as the pair encountered lapped traffic. The battle would be put to a momentary stop on lap six as J Kinder spun to a stop in turn one with front end damage.
Once green again, Dover began to put heavy pressure on Maeschen, but each time the pilot of the Jordan Brothers Maxim would have the momentum to stay in the lead.
By lap eight, Dover had worked his way up to and passed Maeschen going into turn three. Maeschen would answer back making a bold move past Dover and a lapped car in turn four to retain the lead.
Disaster would strike on lap eleven as Maeschen worked past a lapped car. The two made contact and Maeschen spun to a stop just off of turn four. Maeschen would return from the pits before the restart, but his chance of victory was gone.
Dover set a blistering pace on the restart as Cornell and Mike Hess set chase. In heavy lapped traffic, Cornell had closed on Dover as action was also hot and heavy for third between Hess, Lutz, and Todd. The heavy traffic would take its toll on Lutz as he got together with Davis in turn one and both flipped. Doug Lovegrove also spunt to avoid contact with the flipping pair. Both drivers emerged unscathed as Lovegrove would restart at the tail.
With a lapped car in between himself and Cornell on the restart, Dover took off to his second career Winged Outlaw Warrior win in the 3D Transport Eagle powered by a Shaver motor. Cornell ran a strong second in the Kiowa Line Builders/Yeager’s Harley Davidson Ostrich-powered Maxim. Hess had his best career winged finish by running third in the Hefty/Budget Truck Rental Maxim powered by an Automotive Machine motor. Todd continued his strong season with a fourth in the AmsOil Maxim powered by a Joe Todd motor. Jon Corbin ran a solid fifth in Dale McCarty’s Engine Connection powered Challenger. Curtis Evans was sixth followed by Jay Russell and Tyler Blank. Maeschen rebounded from his earlier misfortune to run ninth with Lovegrove rounding out the top ten.
The Winged Outlaw Warriors will next run along with the American Sprint Car Series National tour at the Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri next Saturday June 26th.
Also, the tentative date set for Double X Speedway in California, MO on Sunday July 4th has now been removed from the schedule.
