Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 19, 2015) – Plan B turned into a good night for Jack Dover, who tackled Knoxville Raceway last Saturday following a pair of Midwest rainouts.

“It’s always good to get laps at Knoxville throughout the year to prepare for the Nationals,” he said. “I felt like there were definite areas we could improve, but overall we had a solid performance for our first time there this year.”

Dover qualified 13th quickest around the half-mile oval, which lined him up on the outside of the front row for a seven-lap heat race.

“I hardly ever qualify so that’s always a hold-your-breath moment,” he said. “The field is so even that if you mess up just the slightest it will drop you a lot of positions. It’s easier during the heat race and feature when there are other cars on the track to judge exactly where you should be.”

Dover took the lead on the opening lap of his heat race and led the first five laps before he settled for a second-place finish, which locked him into the 11th starting position for the main event.

“We raced inside the top 10 throughout the feature, which was only 18 laps,” he said. “I felt like we learned a few things that we can apply the next time we race at Knoxville and we got out of there with a top 10 so it was a solid night for our team.”

Dover finished with an eighth-place result to garner his second top 10 of the rain-plagued season.

He is scheduled to compete this Saturday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., and Sunday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints.

Dover has recorded five straight top-two finishes, including three wins, at Junction Motor Speedway. He also has seven feature victories, 17 top fives and 23 top 10s in 27 races at I-80 Speedway since the start of the 2011 season.
