Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Oct. 28, 2014) – Patience is not only a virtue on the track, sometimes it’s a necessity off of it.

It’s difficult for any racer to take weekends off, but Jack Dover has taken a methodical approach to his schedule the past couple of years.

“We don’t have a big budget and can’t travel as much as I’d like so we have to pick the right races,” he said. “We’ve only been able to do 40-to-50 races each season the past couple of years.”

Dover continues to put up strong statistics despite spending a few more weekends away from the race track and taking on a larger role with his family’s business.

With only one racing weekend remaining – the World Finals with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Nov. 6-8 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C. – Dover has captured 14 feature victories, 22 podium finishes and 25 top fives in only 43 races this season.

“The goal has been to reach 20 wins,” he said. “I’ve never done that in a single season and until I achieve that mark it will be the carrot dangling in front of me.”

Dover has recorded 84 feature victories during the past seven seasons and he is currently only one win away from tying a career high for wins in a single season, which he recorded last season and in 2008.

“It seems like it is getting tougher and tougher to win,” he said. “Almost everybody has good equipment and there are a lot of talented drivers across the country. While we want to race more often and reach the 20-win goal, we are happy that we’ve taken our sponsors to Victory Lane as much as we have.”
