Inside Line Promotions – JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 13, 2023) – Jack Dover earned his second podium result of the season on Monday during a Midwest Sprint Touring Series race at Park Jefferson Speedway.

Dover powered from eighth to second place during a heat race to garner a spot in the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 2 to line up on the outside of the front row in the main event.

“I led the first 15 laps,” he said. “I probably wasn’t aggressive enough in lapped traffic and got held up. After watching the video of the race I should have been more aggressive, but when you’re leading it’s hard to judge. Before I got to traffic I probably had a five or six-second lead. You don’t know if there’s a better line out there. Also, I made four or five mistakes as a driver that I have to learn from.”

Dover’s third-place run was his second-best finish of the season.

“I’ve only ran that car three times now and it’s made the A Main all three nights and had two podiums so we’re pretty pleased,” he said.

Dover also competed a week ago Tuesday at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., where the High Limit Sprint Car Series visited.

Dover qualified 10th quickest in his group. He battled for the fifth-and-final lock-in position into the A Main during a heat race before ending sixth, which relegated him to the B Main. Dover stayed in a transfer position throughout the consolation race as he placed fourth to advance into the main event.

“My biggest goal was to make the show and we did that,” he said. “It wasn’t the typical Eagle where it was slick with a cushion up top. It was more locked down on the bottom with a decent lane in the middle. When you have some of the top guys right in front of you racing for 22nd and going nowhere sometimes it’s best to make a business decision. We pulled off to make sure we stayed out of the way of guys racing for $28,000.”

Dover plans to return to action June 21-24 at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., during the BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals presented by MENARDS with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
