Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (Aug. 3, 2022) – Jack Dover garnered his 12th top-10 outing of the season last Sunday at Huset’s Speedway.

Dover kicked off the event by qualifying fourth quickest in the Rick and Chris Bowers owned No. 81 sprint car.

“We went out as the last car and everybody was going around the top,” he said. “The three cars in front of me went to the bottom and had good times so I figured I better try that and we ended up fourth.”

Dover finished where he started – third – in a heat race to advance into the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 5 to line up on the inside of the third row in the main event.

“I just needed to be tighter middle-off through the corners,” he said. “We were able to run the top the whole race so we’re getting closer to being better. I think we need to be more aggressive with the setup.”

Dover battled for a top five throughout the feature before ending sixth. It was his eighth top 10 of the season at the track. He ranks fifth in the championship standings – only one point behind fourth and 33 points out of the lead with three races remaining this season.

Next up for Dover is the 32nd annual 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank hosted by Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, this weekend. Dover’s preliminary night is Thursday.

“Our goal is to make the A Mains,” he said. “Anything after that is a bonus.”

Dover’s best run at the 360 Knoxville Nationals is a fourth-place finish in 2012. He has earned four top 10s at the event, which is tied for 16th most all time.
